Vienna

In Vienna, the Living Lab consists of several residential buildings housing around 200 households. These century-old buildings rely 100% on gas heating and lack any renewable energy sources. The cooperative is part of our consortium, owns all the buildings but the cooperative members and residents single family houses have a strong ownership claim to the houses. Therefore the primary challenge here is to convince the residents to replace gas boilers in all units and transition to decarbonized heat supply.
